This might sound naive and stupid but,
"So, what kind of music you listen to?"
I get so frustrated when people ask me that.
A part of the frustration comes from the fact I believe they don't know the bands I listen to.
And the rest is about that I really don't care what's my favorite, I just listen what I like.
Then my answer comes with a big smile "I listen every kind of music, honestly, from punk to dupstep"
Yes I even enjoy classical music and hardcore. And I think it's not a big difference. It's music.
Since Tyler the creator have been around I've gone crazy for him. You should try him btw.
